Shameless Self-Promotion
Don’t be afraid to promote yourself. The buzzwords may be “networking”, or “making contacts”, but that’s just sugar-coating what can be challenging, frustrating and disenchanting. Getting your work out there, showing the world your art or your craft or your skills, it’s not easy and it never will be. But those who persevere are the ones who ultimately succeed, who go on to do great things, who go on to create and invent and inspire.
So keep going, keep showing the world, because there’s someone who will love what you do and share it, and they’ll show their friends, and you’ll become rich and famous and praised.
Okay, maybe not rich & famous. But genuine praise is hard to come by in this world, and if that’s all you get in the end then all that work will be justified.
