A great point is made here, on taking that first photograph with new tools. I think it’s a bit of both, but there’s always that pressure to think in a deeper way, to make that first result memorable:
It’s curious, every time I use a new camera, o try a new film, or experience a new format, usually the first roll or sheet in this case, turn out to be a good picture. I don’t know if this is because of the fact that using new stuff makes me think in a deeper way, or it’s just about luck…
