Moved in to a new place last weekend. The house was built in the ‘50’s—and I’m just slightly partial to that decade.

A rainy afternoon spent in Fremantle, including a visit to a local Mexican restaurant (not pictured; too delicious) and plenty of wandering about. Shot with the GF1 + 20mm f1.7.

There’s nothing like a bit of retro typography to stir the loins. Shot at a corner store in Maylands, on the GF1 + 20 f1.7.

I have a weak spot for cakes & pies, despite my attempts at eating healthy. At least I’m working back to running 50 kilometres a week.

Spent the Easter weekend in Margaret River — played Scrabble, ordered take-away pizza & ate ice-cream cake. Slightly unconventional maybe, but that’s the way I like it.

Currently on holiday south-west of Perth. This is the first time I’ve caught a coach down, and thanks to our entertaining bus driver, Pete, it probably won’t be the last.

Let Us Eat Cake →
It was Emma’s birthday today, so we spent it having pancakes for breakfast, wandering down lane-ways & eating cake. Low-key maybe, but that’s the best way.

More from my modern-day rangefinder (GF1 + 20 f1.7). Getting used to its idiosyncrasies, and to shooting at arms-length.

Weekend →
The new GF1 + 20mm f1.7 combination has been with me everyday since it arrived. I’ve also been tweaking some of the usual PP I’ve been doing — no downloaded actions (I find it hard to use others’ and be happy). A bit cooler, with some more ‘pop’, and a touch more contrast.
PS: I know it’s only Saturday, so treat this as the first part of a two part series.

“The best camera is the one you always have with you”
This is 100% true. Over the last couple of months, I’ve taken more photos with my iPhone than my 5D Mark II. I’m usually one who’s comfortable with the size & constraints of an SLR, but that comfort reached it’s breaking point. I barely used it — and I’d just started a new job. I had no-where...

Inspired by a Flickr comment on one of my photos, and by this Wikipedia game, I decided to mock up an album cover. And I have to admit that — with names as they are — songs like Blue Wildebeest & USS Western Comet would certainly be awesome.

On 2010 →
2010 was a pretty good year. I learnt a lot, progressed a lot and really pushed myself to work as hard as I could. I look back over my work from the last twelve months and I’m pretty proud of it. I met (and worked with) some great people who are as passionate about what they do as I am — something that’s incredibly refreshing.
And so I’m looking forward to 2011 even more: to...
